My name is Cole.
I grew up in a lower-middle-class family in Sacramento that didn’t talk much about personal finance.
I remember my friends doing things that I couldn’t afford to.
I remember driving a 20-year-old Toyota Camry with bald tires and a garbage bag over the window.
I remember getting to the register at Target and having to leave with nothing when our card got declined.
I remember waiting in the financial aid line in college with a brick in my stomach, hoping that they would give me good news so I could stay enrolled.
All of these experiences, plus $70,000 in student loan debt, pushed me to learn about money.
I never wanted to experience these sorts of challenges again. So I learned.
I read personal finance classics and listened to interviews with investors, studying their techniques, methods, and systems for building wealth.
I’ve worked hard to implement these lessons in my life and I’ve helped a few friends along the way. Now, I want to share what I’ve learned at scale.
For those who grew up financially unsophisticated, like me, I vow to make Junto a good resource. For those who want to spend less time worrying about money and more time living their lives, I commit to helping you achieve that.
I won’t pretend to have all the answers. I don’t. But I’ve seen tremendous growth in my life and in the lives of those I’ve helped, and I hope to help you in the same way.
